Discover “Adria”
This movie was shown in the main room of EXPO3. It introduces the wide and open Mare, meandering shorelines, and discovering beautiful islands of the Northern Adriatic Sea. We travel from Italian, to Slovenian and Croatian coasts, feel the Caribbean colorfulness of the pristine water, enjoying the constant breezes coming from the water. The Adriatic Sea is full of life, high above seagulls, small sail boats and enormous ferries carrying tourists and cars from one end to the other. Sit back and enjoy, grab some popcorn, and immerse into the wonderful culture of the Adriatic Sea.
Discover “Venice”
We all have stories to tell about Venice. The movie only gives a first look of its serenity, as we walk from one memorable corner to the next. Beyond the regular tourist experience we see that Venice is full of its inhabitants who live and work here every day. Discover the Arsenal, the first industrial shipyard Europe´s, and see lions made of marvelous stone. Do take public transportation in form of ferries, and visit Cemetery Island San Michele. All while seagulls rule the sky, and wonder why so many humans mingle around San Marco.
Discover “Piran”
Only a few Slovenian cities have access to the Adriatic Sea, among them Piran seems to stand out. Its well-maintained city core and roofs takes you back a hundred years. Time slows down immediately, we are content to simply walk along restaurant with patios gracing the coast. Around the year people visit Piran, and long into late fall temperatures stay in the 20s, while we dread to go back to the Alps where zero degree weather awaits us with a vengeance.
Discover “Rovinj”
I might guess that if we had a time machine and travelled back 300 years Rovinj would still look the same. Its silhouette is striking against the Sea. Small and lively in the summer, Rovinj shows a slow life style in fall. Fishing boats are out at Sea, stray cats sit on ancient walls and soak in the sunlight. Only five hours south of Graz we feel like being in a different world. While there, visit the many small art galleries. One finds inspiration simply walking the old cobblestone ways of the city.

The message
About the following 4 movies: imagine for a moment leaving your apartment in the city. Leave the masses of cars, people and noisy cell phones behind and go back to the beginning for an hour. Where we all started. In the water, deep, deep below the surface. How we decided to walk and how we made the woods our home. And how we saw the sky and began to wonder what all this is really about.
Our World
The viewer finds himself in a big, crowded city at the beginning of the exhibition. The noise of the cars, towering buildings and masses of people seem threatening, a person alone in a world that is too complex. Thousands of pedestrians gather the streets, seemingly becoming a human wall. The world is noisy, and as we see rushing cars go by in the night, the visitor feels alone in a mass of people, buildings, cars and cell phones. Where is nature? How can we find silence in such a busy world? The exhibition lateron gives relief by revealing paintings of Italian beaches, Irish trees and Norwegian sky formations to the viewer longing for peace and quiet. The art film then guides him through this story.
Water
Long, long time ago life began in the deep depths of our oceans. Surrounded by inpenetrable water far below the surface we bothered with mere existence, the art of survival. Still so many various forms of life evolved. And after eons of time our oceans boasted Humpback whales, schools of Northern Pikes, starfish and octopus. As different as we were, we were all floating through water. Seemingly we must have got a bit bored by all of it, so we decided to grow feet and take a stroll on the beaches. After which we made the woods our home.
Woods
In a sense a thick forest can feel like an ocean. It comforts me with shelter, a special calm soothes my thoughts. After walking in a forest for a while I forget most of what troubles me while being in a city. These trees, moss, and leaves feel like home, and I seem to intuitively remember how my ancestors grew up in the woods thousands of years ago. This is the place where we heal, recharge. Still humanity, just like our fellow cats, always must know whats behind the next corner. And so it looked up the sky one day, and invented mechanical wings.
Sky
Our planet is full of people now. Even Greenland ambitious folk are moving to these days. Our drive to reach the stars, settle Mars, or walk on the moon only partly stems from an urge to look around the next corner. The sky fascinates us, for we imagine it to be filled with stars from far away and planets settled by beings just like us. However we haven´t met them yet. And deep in our souls we are afraid to find out if we are indeed alone in this universe.
