The town of Rovinj with its baroque town church - Santa Eufemia - towers from every side, visible from the entire coast on this strip of Istria. The patron saint of Rovinj also watches over countless tourists, who on a sunny day will climb a narrow, steep staircase to the top of the church building to take truly impressive panoramic photos of the sea. We managed the first 17 steps before giving up. Our fear of heights had won out. Sunsets like the one in the painting are common on the coast, just like the ground fog in autumnal Styria.
