We drove through Ireland and stopped for a break north of Galway. The beach was full of wind and waves, with the bright midday sun beating down overhead. But there was no trace of warmth. That's a typical moment in Ireland: the wind is blowing in your face, it could rain at any time, the beach is fantastically pristine and you're just in a good mood. Ireland is different.
