In November 2020, we sought refuge from the pandemic and visited late-autumn Venice. The locals had won Venice back for themselves, while most tourists were still stuck in lockdown. The evening atmosphere in deserted Venice was enchanting: the dry air enveloped us with a gentle breeze as the sun sank into the horizon. Instead of streets, glittering canals stretched out, and the empty gondolas swayed gently in the water - a quiet Venetian parking lot waiting for its returnees. Only in Venice can a parking lot for means of transportation inspire the imagination.
