Scenes like this can be found everywhere in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes, as the state motto goes. Minnesota, known to the Native Americans as the ‘land of murky water’, is largely uninhabited, with only a few urban centers. In winter this land belongs to the snow, in summer to the mosquitoes.
